Parker Cottage
Parker Cottage is a luxurious guest house with an active concern for the environment.
Parker Cottage is in fact two Victorian cottages (Nos. 1 and 3 Carstens Street) designed by renowned Cape Town architect John Parker in 1895, now joined into one grand house.
The goal at Parker Cottage is to combine luxurious hospitality and accommodation with active concern for the society and the environment.
Their aim is that by 2015, Parker will be the first and only urban eco-lodge in the whole of Africa. They’re going to try, if they can, to be totally ‘off-grid’ for water heating, water treatment, sewage processing, electricity and solid waste management.
